The Exploration Space
The Exploration Space is on the lower level of the library, near the group study suites, and is open to anyone with an active IIT library account. The Exploration Space currently contains:
- Two 3D printers. The cost is $.10 per gram, including any necessary supporting structures. Items must be paid for before they can be picked up.
- A Silhouette CAMEO 3 electronic cutter. The cost to use it is free. You must bring your own materials. Acceptable materials include: vinyl, paper, and cardstock.
- Two button-making machines, one for 2.25 inch buttons and one for 1 inch buttons (for in-library use only). A kit containing all of the parts needed to make 50 buttons costs $5, and can be ordered through our online store.
How to Submit a Project
Prints are submitted by filling out the Submit a Project Form. For multi-part prints, please submit each part separately.
Policies
Your print must comply with the Illinois Tech student handbook policies. We also do not accept prints of weapons, or anything that could be considered discriminatory.

Print Quality and Size
The Exploration Space uses Luzbot TAZ 6 and a PRUSA i3 printer. The maximum print size is 28cm x 28cm x 25cm. Prints vary in quality depending on the difficulty of the print.
Pricing and Pick Up
Your print is weighed after it is completed and we charge 10 cents per gram. Please pay for your prints at the online store. Once you have paid, you can pick up your print at the Exploration Space during our open hours. Projects can be expected to be printed within a few days of file submission

Use of the electronic cutting machine is free. You must bring your own materials.
