Have you noticed the recent enhancements to the Library’s collaborative spaces?
Due to a generous gift from Dr. Alicia Growney and Rebecca Leslie honoring Robert and Wilma Growney, the library was able to greatly enhance collaborative space with the addition of innovative seating, tables, whiteboards, and power towers. The signature pieces, collaborative lounge seating, can be found at the top of the stairs leading to the upper level of the library. This space has been named the Growney Collaborative Space in recognition of their gift.
Robert Growney was a lifetime trustee of Illinois Tech and a graduate of the Armour College of Engineering and the Stuart School of Business, where he also served as chair. Growney was extremely accomplished, serving as president, COO, and vice chairman of Motorola, Inc. He received the Alumni Service Award in 2007 and was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.
Join Dean of Libraries Sharon Bostick and Vice President for Institutional Advancement Betsy Hughes on Tuesday, November 21 at 4 p.m. in the Paul V. Galvin Library as they dedicate the new Growney Collaborative Space. A reception will follow.
