Services at Galvin Library Library Home

Visitors

Non-members of the IIT community may visit the library between opening hours and 6:00 pm. After 6:00 pm, access is restricted to students, faculty and staff of IIT. Students and faculty from other educational institutions may be admitted after 6:00 pm if they present a valid university ID.

Visitors may use the library's public computers for up to 2 hours at a time; print, copy, and scan documents; and use library resources within the library. For more information, or for assistance in using library resources, visit the Reference Desk.

Library staff reserve the right to limit access to materials, resources, or equipment needed by IIT students and faculty. Visitors must conduct themselves in a way that does not disrupt the study environment of the library or threaten damage to library collections, resources, facilities, or equipment.

Each visitor under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult, 21 years of age or older. In addition, parents are responsible for the use of the library and the behavior of their children. Visitors who fail to adhere to these policies will be asked to leave the library.
