If you're looking for a book that isn't available at IIT, you can search for it elsewhere and have it delivered to Galvin. The I-Share catalog is a consortium of 80 academic libraries in Illinois, and WorldCat contains the holdings of more than 8,000 libraries worldwide.
New Students: your local library account will be created automatically. If you are a new student, your account will be available at the start of the semester as long as you have registered for classes. You will still need to create your own online account to check due dates renew items.
Faculty and staff: local library accounts are not automatically created. You will need to contact the Circulation Department to have an account set up.
With your I-Share Account, you can:
- Request books from 80 other universities in the I-Share Catalog
- View checked out books
- Renew books
- See if there are any fines or holds on your account

MyILL is the library’s interlibrary loan system. Use this when the library or I-Share does not have the books you need. Books can be requested from the WorldCat catalog. You can also use your MyILL account to request articles that the library does not have available in full-text. MyILL services are free to the IIT community.
