Borrowing & Circulation
Circulation privileges are available to currently registered Moffett Campus Graduate students only.
Collections at IIT and from dozens of Illinois academic libraries are available through the I-Share catalog, which allows you to search, request and renew materials online 24x7. Note that your IIT ID card is required to circulate or borrow materials. Recalls can be applied on any IIT or interlibrary loan materials borrowed. See the Borrowing & Circulation page for more information.
Create your interlibrary loan account in MyILL to request materials not available in I-Share or journal articles not available in full-text in the library's research databases (which can be accessed from on- or off-campus). See the Interlibrary Loan page for more information.
Reserve items are available at the Circulation Desk. Textbooks or other print items placed on reserve by instructors can be searched through the IIT Library Catalog using the Course Reserves tab. See the Course Reserves page for more information.
IIT students can talk to a librarian about research topics, how to use the catalog or a database, or where to find materials in the IFSH library. Although it is the responsibility of all IFSH/IIT faculty and staff members, and IFSH FDA personnel to conduct their own research, the IFSH Librarian will conduct limited research for those individuals who are experiencing difficulties finding the material they need. These special research requests will be treated on a case by case basis, and will be conducted as time permits.
Traditional services at the IFSH Library include reference and circulation service, library instruction, activation and maintenance of library accounts, maintenance of the IFSH Library Website and various IFSH Databases, and tracking IFSH Research Publications. IFSH Library services do not include citation checking, organizing staff or faculty files, or performing other duties not typically not associated with librarianship. Additionally, IFSH IIT faculty and staff, and IFSH FDA personnel may not sequester library student assistants to perform non-traditional library duties without the express approval of the IFSH Operations Director, or the IFSH Director.
The IFSH Librarian can be found at the Reference / Circulation Desk located on the first floor of the IFSH Library. In depth, one-on-one consultations, and personalized library instruction sessions may be arranged by contacting the IFSH Reference Librarian at 708-563-8163, or email@example.com.
