The Bauhaus-Archiv Museum of Design
The Bauhaus Archive / Museum of Design in Berlin is concerned with the research
and presentation of the history and impact of the Bauhaus (1919-1933). It's important
to understand your roots.
The Center for Sustainable Design
Centre for Sustainable Design, a research centre of The Surrey Institute of Art
and Design (UK). It is involved in education, training and research into sustainable
design.
Communication Arts
From the publishers of Communication Arts magazine, resources for the design professional,
including design ideas, online exhibits, job listings, and links to relevant web
sites.
Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum
Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, Smithsonian Institution is the only museum
in the nation devoted exclusively to historic and contemporary design. Their website
includes content related to current and past exhibitions at the museum and the
Educator Resource
Center.
Ecological Design Institute
This section covers the principles of ecological design, and information about the
Ecological Design Institute's publications.
Steve Lawler, Interactive Media
Iranian-born Steve Lawler created a visual playground exploring ideas on interaction,
typography, photography, sequential design and sound. Lawler's site opens with a
pack of cigarettes that transforms into an asthma inhaler and pumps every time you
click on it: each "pump" reveals a different section of his web site. Check it out
for yourself.
