Faculty & Staff

Services for faculty and staff of IIT.

Faculty at IIT enjoy access to many print and electronic resources housed at both the Biegler and Galvin Libraries, as well as at academic institutions around the state.

Borrowing & Circulation

Collections at IIT and from dozens of Illinois academic libraries are available through the I-Share catalog. Contact library staff to set up your library account and check out your circulation privileges. Circulation privileges are also extended to faculty spouse/partners. Simply complete the Borrowing Contract and submit to library staff.

Interlibrary Loan

Set up your own interlibrary loan account in MyILL to request journal articles and items not available in I-Share.

Classes & Workshops

The library staff is dedicated to the idea of life-long learning and, in order to achieve that goal, library patrons can be instructed in using a modern academic library and its resources. Bibliographic instruction classes can be tailored to the needs and subject matter of the course, with classes varying from broad introduction to specific navigation of useful databases.

Please contact biegler@iit.edu to schedule a bibliographic instruction session. Advance notice of at least one week is preferred, with more lead time encouraged.

Reserves

Faculty may place reading materials on reserve to allow students maximum access to materials set aside by faculty to assist in coursework. This may include reading material, practice exams, problem sets, etc. Reserve materials may be from the library's collection or may be an instructor's personal copy. The library follows copyright law and fair-use guidelines and reserves the right to refuse items for Reserve that do not meet our policy. See the Reserves page for more information.
