How to use IM reference:

All you need is a computer and an IM screen name registered with one of the above services. Click on the icon of the service to get a screen name if you don not already have one. If you have a screen name, and you are using a computer that does not have instant messaging software, click on the web access links to sign on through your preferred IM platform. Feel free to add us to your buddy list!

Will I get an answer right away?
IM reference questions will be answered as soon as possible, in the order they are received. If the librarian is busy helping another patron in-person, it may take a bit more time to get a question answered. If the librarian has stepped away from the Reference Desk, you will see a message saying: "The librarian is temporarily away from the computer or assisting another patron, and will be back shortly."
